This place is the Holy Grail of Neighborhood Dive Bars. Why this place is doing it right: 1. It's old school complete with garage doors, cheap beer and you can smoke cigarettes or cigars inside. 2. They do have an outdoor area and there is free darts and pool inside. That's right; Free. 3. I felt completely comfortable, no funny stares. As long as we were friendly and respectful to the ladies behind the bar, we were treated like family. Ladies behind the bars were awesome; quick with the beers and friendly.
This a neat old-school ice house. Located just north of the Heights district in Houston. it's a cool little place to go hang out, have some suds and shoot some 8-ball. Catty Corner is a jeans and cowboy boots, old, smoky ice house kind of a place. I love it... It's the kind of place you can just hangout in with no worries in the world. It's just laid back, rustic and relaxing. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. They have free pool. Prices are good. Juke box full of music. I could hang out here every week.
The bartenders are very sweet. Some nights are slow and other nights there are parties and celebrations. Plenty of parking spaces and street parking. There's a covered deck for chill nights- Also free games! Inside is decent and roomy. There's a jukebox, handful of small TV's and one big screen, a few casino games and 3 or 3 pool tables that are always free. FREE POOL. 🙂 Good place for a drink after work or to hang with some friends.
